Most Anticipated Books of September 2017 (I'M BACK + GODSGRAVE + WRITING)

I'M BACK!

*pant-pant*
*pant-pant*

That was one tiring blogging slump.

I even missed a Most Anticipated Books post for the first time since I opened Magiverse.
*the guilt*
*the pain*

No, I can't dwell on this now.
I'm back, and September it here, as well as one of my most anticipated books of 2017 (MY EXCITEMENT CANNOT BE CONTAINED ANY LONGER).

I present to you my September anticipated books:

Godsgrave by Jay Kristoff
Publication date: September 5, 2017

BeatBeat
BeatBeat
BeatBeatBeatBeatBeatBeat

IT'S HERE.
It's finally here!

Ahhh, Godsgrave.
The second book in the most brutal and unique fantasy trilogy by mastermind Jay Kristoff.

I already pre-ordered my copy from Amazon (of the cover you see above, since there are two Ridiculously beautiful covers, not to mention way too many tempting editions).
My only sorrow now is the wait until it gets here.
Please come soon... O, daughters.

For my Nevernight review (which includes both non-spoiler and spoilers parts, for those who read and haven't read the book).

This is not where I die.
I've far too much killing to do.
(That's the kind of reasoning only Mia can give '^^ )

They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera
Publication date: September 5, 2017

It's... eh... kind of in the title, isn't it?
O_O
Normally I don't go near tragic books - and, basically, everyone who read it thus far has sounded pretty broken on twitter - but... I'm way too curious for my own good. Or maybe for my good? Depends on how you look at it.

I also read the first chapter of this book and the writing just... flows.
I just can't resist this, can I?
Well, at least I know from the very beginning that They Both Die at the End.
*Prepare my heart*

But no matter what choices we make - solo or together - our finish line remains the same ... no matter how we choose to live, we both die at the end.
(I haven't even read it yet and it's already sad).

When someone puts their journey out there for you to watch, you pay attention - even if you know they'll both die at the end.

(This is poetic and also kind of creepy because this quote totally just figured me out :O )

A Semi-Definitive List of Worst Nightmares by Krystal Sutherland
Publication date: September 5, 2017

This sounds *adorable*.
Also, a lot of mental issues to go around (agoraphobia, anxiety, phobias...).
But it honestly mainly sounds adorable (*:

People got tired of mental illness when they found out they couldn't fix it.

"Everything you want is on the other side of fear."

Black Bird of the Gallows by Meg Kassel
Publication date: September 5, 2017

I'm intrigued.
And the reviews are very praising.

A YA fantasy story about a girl who falls in love with the harbinger of death (who is her classmate).

If only my high school life was this exciting :O

Warcross by Marie Lu
Publication date: September 12, 2017

I'm not sure if there's anyone who isn't looking forward to this one (:
It sounds hella cool - a hacker girl who gets herself in trouble and now must work as a spy - and, well, it's Marie Lu, so...

Definitely checking this one out!

P.S: Did you know Marie Lu is a talented artist, too? I only found out about it when I realized she made the drawings in Gemina.
She's truly amazing (!).

Before She Ignites by Jodi Meadow
Publication date: September 12

This sounds like your run of the mill fantasy except that our protagonist apparently has mental disabilities.
As written in the synopsis: But Mira has never felt as perfect as everyone says. She counts compulsively. She struggles with crippling anxiety. And she's far too interested in dragons for a girl of her station.

I picked up OCD and Anxiety Disorder right there.

A fantasy book with elements of disability is a rare sight... which is why I'm so interested in Before She Ignites

Rebel Seoul by Axie Oh
Publication date: September 15, 2017

This is a YA sci-fi that takes place in futuristic Korea and follows Lee Jaewon, a talented pilot, as he is teamed up with Tera, a government test subject, and finds himself falling in love with her.

Sounds interesting indeed.

This is a debut novel so there isn't much known about the author.

Jane, Unlimited by Kristin Cashore
Publication date: September 19, 2017

Okay, so... I'll be completely honest: normally, this book wouldn't speak to me. I would read the synopsis, browse about, and will eventually say "no thanks."
But.
Kristin Cashore once wrote one of my favorite books - Graceling.
Do I love it now as much as I did then? I don't know.
What I do know is that I loved it a lot at the time, and used to read it countless of times whenever I wanted something to re-read.

So this is the classic 'I'm picking this up because I know the author' (:
I don't have high expectations, but I owe it to myself to try this one out.

Also... well, ever since the Graceling Realm trilogy ended, Kristin Cashore hasn't written anything in 5 years.
So I really feel like I want to support her.

The Graceling trilogy was a pretty great book series.

People tell you that what happens to you is a direct result of the choices you make, but that's not fair. Half the time, you don't even realize that the choice you're about to make is significant.

There's Someone Inside Your House by Stephanie Perkins
Publication date: September 26, 2017

Confession time: I haven't loved Stephanie Perkins books so far.
Wait, I didn't hate them. I actually did like them. It's just... they never clicked with me.
I didn't see the fluffiness and happiness and cuteness everyone else was seeing.
They were a nice 3 stars read for me.

I know a lot of people absolutely LOVE them, so I'm sorry you must hear I don't '^^ .

Anyways! I'm looking forward to seeing this author plunging into horror.
This is going to be interesting.

An Enchantment of Ravens by Margaret Rogerson
Publication date: September 26

I don't know much of anything about this book other than the fact that the reviews got me hooked.
Especially since so many of my friends on Goodreads marked it as to read.

All I know is that this is a YA fantasy with fairies.

"Is that so terrible? You say it as though it's the most awful thing you can imagine. It isn't as though I've done it on purpose. Somehow I've even grown fond of your -- your irritating questions, and your short legs, and your accidental attempts to kill me."

Invictus by Ryan Graudin
Publication date: September 26

Time travel is always blessed in my heart.
No more needs to be said.

"I could go back and kill Hitler," Far joked. "Isn't that every time traveler's dream?"

(Doctor Who, anyone? :'D)

And that's it for my most anticipated books for September, 2017!
After this long slump, I had lots of fun writing this post.
I also got super excited for all the books to come.
Godsgrave, They Both Die At the End...
There are just so... much... anticipation.
Ahhh, I can't wait!
Just a few more days.
Tell me all about your anticipated books. What are you expecting?
Are you dying to get your hands on Godsgrave, too?
Can't wait to hear from you (:

P.S: I kind of published a poem on Goodreads.
As well as two chapters of a story I'm writing on Wattpad.
(*nervous-nervous-nervous-nervous-nervous*)

See you soon, everyone!
Until then...

The heavens grant us only one life, but through books, we live a thousand."

  4. A huge YES to all your picks! I agree that Before She Ignites sounds like a stereotypical fantasy novel, save for the mental health rep. It's the reason I'm looking forward to it as well! Jane, Unlimited doesn't appeal to me that much either, but I still want to give it a go. I absolutely loved Graceling when I read it three years ago, but I haven't read anything else by her since. :/ I used to LOVE Stephanie Perkins books, but I'm kind of over it now. I'm looking forward to her trying out a new genre though! Have an awesome September Zoey! I'm a new follower, and absolutely loved this post!! :D
