Most Anticipated Books of February 2017

Hello!
And welcome to my most anticipated books of February 2017.

Ah, yes, it is indeed I who am writing to you.
I know I haven't been around for a long while... it pains me, but there isn't anything I can do about it.
All I can do is wait and hope to be back ASAP.

In the meantime, however, I swore to myself to always keep the tradition of my most anticipated books post.
And since it's the first week of February, here we go! 😄

Traveler by L.E. DeLano
Publication date: February 7, 2017

Jessa is a girl just like us - much more interested in imagining other worlds than her own boring one.
But that is all it's ever going to be - imaginary.
That is until one day her favorite character, Finn, shows up and invites her for coffee.

Turns out alternate realities are all too real. Jessa and Finn are both travelers - able to jump from one reality to the other. And Jessa is dying over and over again in every single reality.
Only this time... this Jessa, Finn is determined to make sure survives.

                                        🛳  🛳  🛳

Woah, this book sounds GOOD.
As in, really good.
I kinda wish me a Finn right now.
I mean, wouldn't it be just great to find out all those characters in your head are actually... real?
That's the dream, huh?

Empress of a Thousand Skies by Rhoda Belleza
Publication date: February 7, 2017

Empress of a thousand skies is the story of Rahee, the last surviving heir to a powerful dynasty, and Aly, a fugitive wrongly accused of killing her.
By fate or misfortune, the two of them are thrown together to face off the evil that threatens the galaxy.

🌘 🌘 🌘

Honestly? This book sounds awesome.
You know me... I'm always in a chase for epic adventures across the galaxy.

At the Edge of the Universe by Shaun David Hutchinson
Publication date: February 7, 2017

Things are going great between Tommy and Ozzie. From best friends to boyfriends, things are good.
And then, one day, Tommy disappears.
Only he doesn't just disappear, he completely ceases to exist. No one remembers him, no one knows who he is or who he was. There is absolutely no proof that he ever existed.
Other that the fact that his boyfriend, Ozzie, still remembers him, and is determined to bring him back. No matter what.

Ozzie soon finds out that the universe is shrinking, and that his only hope to save Tommy might lie with the new student - Calvin.

🗲 🗲 🗲

Now that sounds like a cool premise.
Not many fantasy/sci-fi LGBT YA stories are really out there?
Not many "Oh no, the universe is shrinking!" stories out there either, for that matter.
Consider me very much intrigued.

Wintersong by S. Jae-Jones
Publication date: February 7, 2017

Nineteen-year-old Liesel is a musician. But reality is harsh, and she must set her music aside for the sake of running her family's inn.
When are sister, Kathe, is kidnapped by the goblins, Liesel goes after her in hopes of saving her.
There, she meets the goblin king, and makes a bargain with him; her sister's life for her hand in marriage.

Thus begin the dark, seductive, musical journey.

🏶 🏶 🏶

Everything from the reviews to the premise makes is sound like a book I'm going to love.
I want to dive into its depth.

To Catch a Killer by Sheryl Scarborough
Publication date: February 7, 2017

Erin Blake seems to be one of those people who are drawn to crimes whether they want to or not.
The first time it happened, Erin was no more than a toddler who had survived for three days by her murdered mother's side.
The second time it happened was 14 years later, when she found the body of her biology teacher.
Erin is certain is has something to do with her mother's unsolved case. All she has to do is solve the case before it's too late.

🗡  🗡  🗡

I'm not usually the type to read murder-mystery stories.
I'm freaked out easily and so I tend to avoid them. However, there are some I can't deny my interest in and I just have to give them a shot. To Catch a Killer is that kind of story.

Romeo and What's Her Name by Shani Petroff
Publication date: February 7, 2017

Emily is Juliet's understudy in her school's Shakespeare performance for one reason and one reason alone: to be close to Wes (a.k.s Romeo, a.k.a her crush).
Emily was never meant to play the role, but then Amanda (a.k.s the "real" Juliet) ends up in the hospital, and now Emily must play the role of Juliet - which she knows nothing about - with none other than Wes.

💔 💔 💔

I actually got an ARC of this book from NetGalley.
*hooray*

#famous by Jilly Gagnon
Publication date: February 14, 2017

#famous tells the story of a girl, in love with a boy, and accidentally makes boy insta-famous.

#  #  #

Now, I'm not sure about this one.
The reviews are somewhere between nice to okay.
It could go either way, but there is no denying I'm just a little bit intrigued with the concept of this one.

The Valiant by Lesley Livingston
Publication date: February 14, 2017

Fallon, the daughter of a Celtic king, has long since dreamed of following in her sister's footsteps and earning her place as a warrior by her father's side.
On the eve of her seventeenth birthday, Fallon is kidnapped and forced into an elite training school for female gladiators. The school is owned by none other than Julius Ceasar himself - the man responsible for her sister's death.
Furthermore, it just may be that he is Fallon's only hope of getting out of this alive.

    ⚔  ⚔  ⚔

Now this book sounds hella cool! I mean... a female gladiator!
It sounds SO GOOD, I'm almost too afraid to pick it up in fear of being disappointed.

Another thing that drew me to this book was the cover. For some reason it just really reminded me of the British TV shows Merlin (the greatest and most epic show ever created, aside perhaps for Doctor Who).

Optimists Die First by Susin Nielsen
Publication date: February 21, 2017

After a family tragedy, Petula de Wilde has shut herself away from the world.
These days, she's scared of mostly everything; crossing the street, a bug bite, you name it.
She may be alive, but she isn't living.
Until one day, in her therapy group, she meets Jacob. The boy has his own shares of problems, but that doesn't stop him from teaming up with Petula on a project that might change both of their lives.

💀 💀 💀

Just from the synopsis of this book, I can't help but find myself feeling for Petula.
I know how hard it is, being afraid of anything and everything. It makes life hard to navigate. It makes you an outsider. It makes you alone.
So... I want to read Petula's story.

I also have to mention I'm so very grateful for Netgalley for providing me with an e-ARC of this book.
I have lots and lots of books I need to read, but I'm looking forward to getting on to it!

The Dragon's Price by Bethany Wiggins
Publication date: February 21, 2017

Sorrow's life is ruled by one choice and one choice alone: marry the barbarian prince, or be sacrificed to the dragon.
For everyone else, the choice seems simple enough.
But Sorrow refuses to allow her destiny to control her for even one more moment. And so, determined in her decision, Sorrow is given to the dragon.
But not all is as it seems, and the barbarian prince she was meant to marry follows her down in hopes of slaying the great beast.
Their fates, only they can shape now.

👁 👁 👁

Again, I must thank Netgalley for being so amazing and providing me with an e-ARC of The Dragon's Price.
I already read the first chapter and this book looks really good and interesting.
I'll be sure to write about it more once I finished it!

Long May She Reign by Rhiannon Thomas
Publication date: February 21, 2017

Freya is twenty-third in line to the throne and comfortable that way. She was never meant to rule.
When a banquet for the king turns deadly, Freya finds herself on the throne.
She may have escaped the massacre, but this is only the beginning.
Some, don't accept her. Others, want to control her. Some, want to rule in her place. Others, simply want her dead.
In a situation where she cannot trust anyone, what is the only living heir to the throne must do?

🏙  🏙  🏙

Long May She Reign sounds like a really interesting story of a young and unprepared queen.
I'm very much hoping to love it.

Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller
Publication date: February 28, 2017

Who doesn't love a good pirate story?
There aren't many, and I can never get enough.
A YA adventure pirate story about a kickass girl going undercover in the middle of the ocean.
Can't wait!

And those are my most anticipated books of February 2017.
Tell me, are you anticipating any of these books as well?
Are there any others you can't wait to read?
Please share your thoughts with me.
As always, I love hearing what you have to say (:

  2. The Valiant is the one book I want to read the most from this list. But I most likely won't be able to buy it right away because I have a book buying ban. LOL And other than that I'm super excited to read Into the Fire by Jeaniene Frost.

Hope you have a great month! ♥
