Most Anticipated Books of November 2016

Well hello there.
And thank you for joining me in my November 2016 most anticipated book talk \ possible fangirling.

What can you expect:

  • November 1st. A looot of November 1st.
  • An author who disappeared so long ago, no one thought she will be seen again. Until...
  • Certain someone was approved for 3 ARCs in this list (and is, naturally, overjoyed about it).
  • A book that refuses to show up on kindle.
  • A book so awesome, surely it must not be true.

I got your attention, didn't I?
*muahahaha*

Archangel's Heart by Nalini Singh

Coming out: November 1, 2016

Thanks to Orion Publishing Group & NetGalley, I was ever so lucky to get an ARC of this book I was so highly anticipating.

While I didn't love it as much as I wanted to, I did very much enjoy it. And I am very much excited for the next one.
For more details about that, feel free to check out my book review  of Archangel's Heart.

But before I move on to the next book, I'll give you a quick overview of the first book in the series:

The series takes place in a world like our own. That is if our world was ruled by angels and vampires were a common thing to see on the streets.
Elena is a guild hunter, responsible for protecting the humans and making sure the vampires oblige the rules set my the angles.
One day, she's called for a special mission by one of the 10 most powerful angles in the world - the Archangel of New York, Raphael.
Yeah, things definitely don't go as planned from there...

The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon
Coming out: November 1, 2016

It's a cover like this one that makes me want to move to the US right now so I can buy the actual book.
*dreamy sigh*

I have heard nothing but amazing things about The Sun is Also a Star & Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon.
Reading The Sun is Also a star synopsis, I was hooked.
Sounds like a beautiful YA contemporary romance story.
I'm always into it.

Bad Blood by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
Coming out: November 1st

Also, covers like this.
Though this time I am going to get to see this cover up close.
Why?
Because a certain book *ahem-ahem* Bad Blood *ahem-ahem* refuses to appear on my kindle.
Same thing happened with the previous book in the series (All In).
For reasons I will never understand, sometimes you can't purchase certain books in certain countries.
As in, if I was in the US right now, I would probably be ale to buy this book on my kindle.
But as I am not in the US right now, I can't purchase this book on my kindle.

What kind of logic is that?
Don't know.
All I know is I have to read this book. Have to. As I am currently obsessed with Jennifer Lynn Barnes books (best YA thriller author ever).

Which is why I'm going to spend extra money to get it shipped to my little country.
Worth it.
Anything for Bad Blood.

Infinity by Jus Accardo
Coming out: November 1, 2016

I got an e-ARC!
Which I haven't read yet because I literally just got it.
And I'm so excited about it!

Infinity is a YA sci-fi novel about jumping through dimensions.
Which is almost as exciting as time travel. Sometimes more, depending on how well it's performed.

The positive reviews and the synopsis were enough for me to want to read this book.
Also, the fact that a few of my friends on Goodreads want to read it.
Also, dimension travel.
Also, I got an ARC.
So...

Timekeeper by Tara Sim
Coming out: November 1, 2016

ARC number 3 I received from the publisher via NetGalley.
I've had my eye on this book for a while now.
Also, thank you, Lola from Hit or Miss Booksfor recommending this book to me!

How many fantasy-steampunk YA LGBT books can you say you've read?
Not many, huh?
Well, you're in luck because Timekeeper is just it.

Taking place in a world where time literally lives in clock-towers, we follow our protagonist Danny in his mission to save... well, time. All while he falls in love with a spirit of a clock-tower he would do anything to protect.

I've reached about 12% into Timekeeper, and while I'm really intrigued by the concept of this book (haven't read steampunk before), and by the characters and where they're going, I stopped there for now because it was really hard for me to get into it.
The story just felt so... slow.
I can't really describe it other than the fact that I had trouble keeping my focus as I was reading it.

The Diabolic by S.J. Kincaid
Coming out: November 1, 2016

Is November 1st some sort of international date for book releases I'm unaware of?
It sure does seem this way.

I'm honestly not sure what The Diabolic is about, other than:
A) the cover creeps me out a bit (I'm not a huge fan of butterflies)
B) I've seen this book going around all over the place.

Okay, so, I have read the synopsis and...
yeah, I still have no idea what this book is about.
All I got was:
A humanoid teenager built to protect a senator daughter.
She must disguise herself as the senator daughter and go to the capital as a hostage.
There is a power-mad emperor, rebellion, and romance.

What more does a book-lover girl like myself need?

The Chemist by Stephenie Meyer
Coming out: November... 15, 2016 (don't worry, we're done with the 1st)

No no, you definitely did not read the name of the author wrong.
It is indeed the original Stephenie Meyer.
You know, Twilight, the host, and all.

I was like "WHAT!" when I heard Stephenie Meyer was coming out with a new book.
More out of surprise than excitement, I admit.
Stephenie Meyer was gone for so long...

I do, however, feel like I owe it to my 13-year-old self to read this book.
My 13-year-old-self was obsessed with twilight.
And I do mean obsessed.
Indeed I was.
The nostalgia... (:

I highly doubt I would come even close to liking it if I read it today.
It's a sad truth but it is the truth.
It doesn't mean The Chemist is anything like Twilight, though.
I read the synopsis and it actually looks like an adult thriller novel.

Scythe by Neal Shusterman
Coming out: November 22, 2016

Two teenagers, a boy and a girl, are forced against each other to become professional reapers.
One of them must die. The other must become an apprentice.

Okay, so this book sounds so cool!
I haven't read anything by the author but I heard great things about his Unwind trilogy.
I'm very much looking forward to reading Scythe!

And that's it for my Most anticipated books of November 2016 post!
                                                      Hope you guys enjoyed.
Hope you found new books you want to read.
What are your most anticipated books of the month?
I'd love to know if I'm missing out on anything great!
Let me hear your thoughts (:
Also, for those of you who celebrated Haloween,
I hope you had a spooooky night. If it's the kind of thing you like.
Some recommended spooky reads (if you haven't had enough of those already):                                  Nevernight by Jay Kristoff and The Call by Peadar O' Guilin.
                                                                Until then...

"You see, a conflict always begins with an issue - a difference of opinion, an argument. But by the time it turns into a war, the issue doesn't matter anymore, because now it's about one thing and one thing only: how much each side hates the other."

  1. Omigosh I'm really excited about reading Timekeeper! I keep hearing so many good things about it and Steampunk is a genre I've not read yet *hides my face in shame* but I plan to remedy that soon by reading Timekeeper!! The cover of The Diabolic and Scythe look pretty awesome to me :) Oh yes November this year is a great month isn't it? Also I recently read your review of Nevernight (But not the spoilers!) and decided to go buy the book! I was a little on the wall about the book due to the mixed reviews and while I read many positive reviews, yours was the one that made me come to a decision! So thank you for that :)

    1. Oh wow. You have no idea how much it means to me to hear that.
Really. Knowing I had a hand in someone buying a book because of my review... woah.
It's amazing what words can do to a person, huh?
      Thank you, Uma! :')

About Timekeeper, I really hope you'll like it too! This book has such a great concept. Also, I never before read steampunk either. Do not feel ashamed, as we are in this together.

November is SUCH a good reading month. I can't wait to get my hands on all of those books! :D
If there is a month even more amazing than November, it's January (which I call the "debut authors" month). As of right now, I have 11 anticipated books coming out that month (!).

So yes, we have so many amazing books to look forward to.
And so many more amazing books that are already out and we need to read.
The life of a reader remains a busy one ^^

Sending you "I hope you'll love Nevernight" vibes!

    2. I agree about the words :) You're welcome!

Oh yay! High five then :) I feel so out of place when people discuss steampunk in the blogsphere! Will definitely remedy that soon!

But November is also the month I have my semester exams *cry* and I have soooo many books on my Read and Review queue! wow..I never noticed that..Will go over to Goodreads and check January releases :)

Indeed! so many books and so little time... If only we were immortal! :P

I've just started reading Nevernight and I actually like the writing style!

    3. Exam time, huh?
Hang in there, Uma. I'm rooting for you (:
I also totally get the pressure of both having to deal with "real life problems" and reading and reviewing all those books you got\bought. I have sooo many I need to get to and I just can't seem to find the time!

Ever since I was a little girl, I never wanted to be a princess. I wantd to be immortal ;)

You like the writing style of Nevernight?
      I'm so happy for you!
Even I, who loved the book and ended up loving the writing style, was so confused at the beginning I started to wonder if I was even going to like this book.
Needless to say, I did :D

P.S: You probably finished Nevernight by now. Sorry for the late reply '^^

    4. Well exams are over now and that makes me want to dance!!!

Yay to immortality!! :D We should look for the elixir of life...hmmm...

Actually I've not yet finished Nevernight! Thing is while the writing style is beautiful it's a complicated book and I wanted to completely devote my time to it. I couldn't do that during exams so I kept Nevernight aside for a while and finished Three Dark Crowns instead. Have started Nevernight again yesterday and hope to finish it by tomorrow :) Will post an ellaborate review once I'm done because the book definitely deserves it!!

  2. I honestly couldn't help grinning at the beginning of your post! It was so great :)
I had the same reaction when I saw that Stephanie Meyers was coming out with a new book! Twilight was actually what jumpstarted my love of reading (13-year old self was completely in love with the idea of Twilight), so there's always going to be a spot spot for it in my heart. Even though I know I probably wouldn'tt enjoy it as much as I did back then if I read it today.
Congratulations for getting so many ARCs! It's always so exciting to get them :) I haven't really gotten many from Netgallery recently, just a lot from authors requests.
Oooh, those covers all look so stunning! I'm going to have to check them out. Especially the YA LGBT steampunk one! Just the fact that it's steampunk and is LGBT is enough to sway me to read it :)

    1. Why, thank you. I aim to please *wink-wink* ;)
Seriouly, though, I'm so happy to hear that. I wanted people to smile from this post. I have this thing with wanting to make people smile\laugh. If I suceeded, then... I couldn't wish for any better (:

Ohao? Twilight was what started your love for reading?
      Interesting.
For me it was Percy Jackson, but Twilight definitely played a huge part in the beginning of me becoming from a person who just reads to a book lover.
Also, I'm pretty sure Twilight was the first vampire book I ever read. And was what made me love the whole vampire genre.

There is nothing quite like getting an ARC you desperately wanted.
But there is also nothing quite like recieving an email from an author requesting you to read and review their book. It's such an honor.

Let us have a fantastic November, shall we? :D

  3. I was obsessed with Twilight also. The good old times. Haha! But I'm excited about The Chemist. I love thrillers so I'm hoping it'll be great!

    1. Twilight was an obsession I couldn't escape (not that I wanted to). I'm pretty sure I read this series... oh, maybe one hundred times.
Though I haven't read it in years since then... (:

Oh, I love me a good thriller!
I hope The Chemist would be everything we're anticipating and more.

  4. Hey, I really like this song It's all about us by He is We! I only recently discovered it (the same time when I discovered Prachute and now I wonder have I been really living under a rock for all these years??).
As for books, congrats on getting 3 arcs from your list. To me, The Sun is Also a Star is the most appealing.

    1. Ah yes, ever since a friend of mine sent me a link to this song, I've been in love with it (:
LOL, I only very recently discovered Parchute myself. Worry not '^^
      Thanks, Irena! :D
I heard so many great things about The Sun is Also A Star. I hope you'll love it.

  5. Haha don't worry Zoey, I think I can safely say that most book bloggers were pretty obsessed with Twilight when it first came out! No shame in that, Meyer did a great job bringing a whole generation and beyond of people together - to pick up a book, read and share their love of literature. No matter how bad it is when you reflect back on the series, I'm thankful that her books have helped bring out the reader in a lot of us :)

November has definitely been a crazy book month! I'm really intrigued by The Diabolic, but like you, I have no idea what it is about!! Hopefully more people review it soon so I have a better idea of whether it's up my reading alley. :)

    1. Really?
      That's a relief, then ;)

Yeah... I haven't picked The Diabolic up either.
As of right now, I only read 2 books, I'm very soon about to read a 3rd one, and I have every intention of reading a 4th.
      What about you?

Oh, by the way... hey, Joy!
I know you, right? You're familiar but I also don't think we talked all that much.
Thanks for stopping by and commenting! It's means so much (:

Have a great rest of November!
Soon it's December and... *shudders*, I only have 2 anticipated books in December.
